Bay of Islands, New Zealand
Floor Area: 1,027m²
A new Four Square for Russell in the Bay of Islands, designed and built to sit above flood levels and meet Heritage New Zealand requirements.
ARCO partnered with the owners of the Bay of Islands Four Square to design and build their new store. One team managed the whole project, coordinating consultants, the Far North District Council and our site crew, while working within Heritage New Zealand requirements throughout.
The old store was demolished and replaced with a building engineered for its site. A piled RibRaft concrete floor lifts the store above flood levels, with precast concrete panels and structural steel portals forming the structure and a timber-framed mezzanine adding office and storage space. The store was delivered on time, in full and to specification.
